Viktor Kaisiepo
First Peoples is sad to announce the passing of our dear friend and founding Board Member and Chairman, Viktor Kaisiepo. His valuable experience as the Executive Director of the Foundation Papua Lobby helped shape First Peoples Worldwide. Viktor was a long-time advocate of Indigenous Peoples rights in West Papua, Indonesia and a strong advocate for self-determination of the province of Papua. Viktor also served as a member of Presidium Dewan Papua, a lobbyist for Indigenous Peoples at the United Nations, a consultant to the World Bank Grants Facility for Indigenous Peoples, and with the Unrepresented Nations and People's Organization. His passion for and dedication to his work will be missed by all who knew him.
